Given my multiple passions for learning, expressing my creativity and Spanish, this profession was simply a natural path to take.
Teaching Style
I cannot abide by the idea that a student might think my class was dull. I want even the least-engaged students to say that the class kept them on their toes because they never knew what kind of activity I was going to spring on them! I find humor to be the greatest artifact in my repertoire of teaching techniques, but one should never underestimate the power of surprise.
New Classes
I am very excited about the two bilingual courses that have been added to the new curriculum. It is hoped that these courses will attract native speakers. They are also intended to rebuild the confidence of Spanish students who feel their skills are too weak to take a regular language course.
Best Part of the Job
It’s always rewarding to meet young people and to feel you’ve made a difference in their lives. I also enjoy traveling as a part of Mount Union-related opportunities and as a professor, striving to improve my teaching and linguistic skills.

I think it must be said that the amount of personal attention our students receive far exceeds that received at any institution I have ever experienced, both as a student and as an instructor.
