Dr. Keith Miller to Present at LINC Luncheon

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Dr. Keith Miller will present “Discoveries and Cures: Preparing the Future Generation of Scientists and Medical Professionals” at the next LINC luncheon at noon on Tuesday, February 24 at the East Room of the Hoover Price Campus Center at the University of Mount Union. 

Miller will present on the importance of undergraduate scientific research experience with emphasis on his research interests in the biochemistry of the immune system and the development of cancer immunotherapies. Topics included for discussion are the use of case studies, undergraduate grant writing and hands-on independent laboratory research.    

Miller, assistant professor of biochemistry, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Mount Union and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in biochemistry and biophysics from the University of North Carolina. His research interests include the biochemistry of the immune system and development of immunotherapies of cancer. 

LINC (lunch, information, networking and conversation) lectures provide a meal and discussions on relevant topics that faculty members are concerned with as well as interaction between the Mount Union and Alliance communities.

The cost to attend an individual event is $10; there is also a season package for $50. Payment is accepted prior to the event by check via mail; tickets can also be purchased at the door, but advanced reservations are required.
