Dr. Mandy Capel to speak at LINC Luncheon
February 14, 2013
ALLIANCE, Ohio — Dr. Mandy Capel, assistant professor of education at the University of Mount Union, will be the featured LINC luncheon speaker at noon on Tuesday, February 26 in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center.
Capel will present “The Ethical and Moral Challenges of Today’s Leadership.” In a time when education is primarily focused on uniformity, standards and assessment, Capel will recount the fundamental need of ethics and morals and the critical importance to the ultimate welfare for students.
Capel, a 1998 graduate of Mount Union, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education, a Master of Arts degree in general education from Marygrove College and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in curriculum and instruction from Kent State University. She has been a member of the Mount Union faculty since 2007 and has played an integral role in the shaping of the Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership program.
The community luncheon series known as LINC (lunch, information, networking and conversation) was conceived to take advantage of the local expertise from Mount Union’s faculty and staff that exists in Alliance, in light of the University’s exceptional academic reputation. This is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge on current topics from local experts and interact with members of the University and greater Alliance community.
Cost of the lunch is $10. Payment will be accepted at the door, but space is limited.
