DUKE UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR OF MEDICINE TO PRESENT CONVOCATION

ALLIANCE, Ohio - John R. Perfect, Infectious Disease Clinician and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University will be presenting a convocation at Mount Union College Thursday, April 12 at 10:35 a.m. in Presser Recital Hall.
His presentation is entitled "Emerging Fungal Infections of the 21st Century" and is a result of research he has performed through his laboratory at Duke University. Perfect is currently researching antifungal agents, both new and old, in animal models of candida and crytococcal infections. In addition, he is coordinating are a series of clinical trials in fungal infections and a series of antibiotic trials in various aspects of infections.
The convocation is free and open to the public. Presser Recital Hall is located in the Cope Music building on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street.
