Education Consultant Presents Conscious Classroom Management to Mount Union Education Students

International education consultant and nationwide presenter Rick Smith presented Conscious Classroom Management: Bringing Out the Best in Students and Teachers to Mount Union education majors and faculty on Saturday, January 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Hoover-Price Campus Center.
Over 220 junior, senior and post baccalaureate education majors and minors and faculty in the Department of Education attended Smith's interactive workshop. Smith gave future K-12 teachers practical solutions for successfully managing their classrooms. They explored management strategies, student cooperation, practical approaches, 'student friendly' lessons and other effective teaching techniques.
Smith has conducted hundreds of interactive workshops on practical teaching strategies and has given numerous inspirational and motivational keynote speeches around the world. He was a classroom teacher for 14 years, focusing on students-at-risk. He has also been a mentor and support provider and has taught it both Elementary and Secondary Credential programs in northern California.
