"Explore the World Though Art" at Rodman Library April 20

April 06, 2010

Mount Union College, Alliance Middle School and Rodman Public Library invite the community to "Explore the World Through Art," on Tuesday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at the Rodman Public Library.

The event is an opportunity to view the art created by Alliance Middle School art students, through a grant project funded by Ohio Campus Compact. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to stop by demonstration tables to try various Japanese art projects.

The project, which began in January, involved Japanese exchange students from Mount Union presenting information about Japanese history, culture, folklore and language to Alliance Middle School students, by demonstrating traditional Japanese artistic mediums.

Discover traditional Japanese art, including sumi calligraphy, kimono design, potato stamping and origami.

The event is free, and refreshments will be served.
