Faculty Recital to Feature Piatt on Trumpet

Kenneth PiattALLIANCE, Ohio – Kenneth Piatt, trumpet instructor in the Department of Music at the University of Mount Union, will perform a faculty recital on Sunday, October 23 at 3 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall of Cope Hall.

Piatt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from the University of Akron in 2008 and a Master of Music in trumpet performance from Ohio University in 2010. 

He will perform a variety of selections, including 4 Miniatures (2000) from Joseph Turrin, Legende (1906) from Georges Enesco and two pieces from Oscar-winning composer John Williams entitled Concerto for Trumpet (1996) and With Malice Towards None (2013) from the film “Lincoln.”

He will be accompanied by Raquel Teare on piano. The event is free and open to the public. Cope Hall is part of the Giese Center for the Performing Arts located on Mount Union’s campus.
