Faculty Recital to Feature Violinist Bodan Subchak

Mount Union College will hold a faculty recital on September 22, in the Presser Recital Hall at 8 p.m. The recital will feature faculty member and violinist, Bodan Subchak.
Subchak, originally from the Ukraine, joined the string faculty at Mount Union in 1999. He studied violin at both the Kiev School of Music and the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Music in Kiev.
Subchak is an active performer in the area. He is a member of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, the Wheeling Orchestra, and serves as concertmaster for the Alliance Symphony Orchestra.
Subchak will play an eclectic selection of music from his repertoire. In the first half of the recital he will perform "Sonata No.1 in G-minor" by Bach and "Sonata No. 12 in E-flat Major" by Mozart. After intermission, he will continue his performance with "Sonata" by Franck, "Melody" by Tchaikovsky and "It Ain't Necessarily So" from Porgy and Bess by Gershwin.
Nicole Lee will accompany Subchak on the piano. Lee, a native of Vancouver, Canada, received both a bachelor's and a master's degree from the University of Southern California. She currently teaches and is an accompanist at Mount Union College and Malone College, in addition to running a private teaching studio in her home.
