Flute Choir and Trombone Ensemble To Present Concert

On Wednesday, April 21, the Mount Union College Flute Choir and Trombone Ensemble will hold a concert, along with special guests the Malone College Flute Choir and Youngstown State University Trombone Ensemble, in Presser Recital Hall at 8 p.m.


The Mount Union College Flute Choir, joined by the Malone College Flute Choir, will be playing pieces such as Capricci by Gottfried Veit and Clair de lune by Claude Debussy. In addition, the will be performing Trillium by Catherine McMichael featuring harp soloist, Rachel Rokosky, a senior from Canton. The combined choir is under the direction of Robyn Tryon, lecturer and flute intrusctor at Mount Union College

The Mount Union College Trombone Ensemble, under the direction of John Olsson, trombone instructor at Mount Union College, will be performing pieces such as Alla Riva Del Tebro (By the Smooth Flowing River) by Giovanni Palestrina and Scene from Scheherazade by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The ensemble with then be joined by the Youngstown State University and will play selections together such as Finlandia by Jean Sibelius and Christus Factus Est by Anton Bruckner. Patricia Olsson, saxophone instructor at Mount Union College, will conduct the combined ensemble.

The concert is free and open to the public.
