Flute Choirs to Perform at Mount Union

The Stark County Honors Flute Choir and the University of Mount Union Flute Choir will perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 5 in Presser Recital Hall.

Musical selections will include “Exsultate Deo” by Giovanni Palestrina, “Lady Carol” by Alfred Hager, “O Northern Star” by Stephen Pollock and “Chicago” by Fred Fischer.

Stark County Honors Flute Choir members are Dana Cressman and Kelly Crowl, Hoover; Mercedes Dahler, Perry; Sarah Hohenadel, Alison Prexta and Laura Tweedie, Lake; Tiffany Kempthorne, Marlington; Natashia Lasky, United; Brenna Price, Salem and Breana Tompulis, Minerva.

Participating private flute instructors are Judy Hall, Heidi Kushious, Monica Meffan, Lisa Price, Julie Sarver, Phil Sauvageot and Becky Stinson. Participating band directors are Nome Baker, Craig Carnes, Jared Cooey, Rich Kibler, Derek Maxey, Ryan Smith, Mark Tryon, Ron Varn and Ellen Varn.

University of Mount Union Flute Choir members are sophomore psychology major Cayley Briggs of Canton, junior music education major Cresslyn DiRosa of Chardon, high school student Drew Duncan of Massillon, junior French major Hope Gergel of Minerva, senior music education major Jacque Mathias of New Philadelphia; junior music education major Heather Rice of Madison and freshman music education major Brianna Searing of Fort Wayne, Ind.
