The faculty here is doing a fantastic job of preparing me and other students for success after graduation. I know that when I chose Mount Union, I made the right decision for myself.

Hands-On Learning

Students who choose to major in geology at Mount Union have ample opportunities to get “real-world” experience outside of the classroom. By getting involved in extracurricular opportunities and student organizations, you can strengthen your skills and knowledge in the geosciences, both of which are critical to career success.

Experiential learning opportunities will give you many chances to put classroom knowledge to work. These opportunities include:

  • Independent research
  • Research with faculty or student peers
  • Laboratory experience
  • Internships
  • Field trips to Appalachian Mountains and Adirondack Mountains
  • Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), a competitive research program sponsored by the National Science Foundation
