Guest Recitalist Joshua Fein to Perform March 12

Guest Recital Joshua Fein will perform Monday, March 12 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall

 Mount Union faculty member Janelle Phinney will accompany Fein.

His recital, 'I Must Down to the Seas Again,' features songs dealing with the theme of the sea. Works by Borodin, Faur', Ives and Schubert will be featured.

Fein, an Easton, Connecticut native, praised for his classical baritone style, has performed as the virtuoso Grandfather Clock in Ravel's opera L'enfant et les sortileges and as Guccio in Gianni Schicchi in the Opera Theater and the Music Festival of Lucca, Italy.

He lives in Rochester, New York and is a frequent recitalist in the area. He studies at the Eastman School of Music with Grammy award winning tenor Robert Swenson.

Phinney, who is an award-winning collaborative pianist, has also performed extensively at home and abroad. She is an accompanist for choral ensembles and also performs with vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles at Mount Union.

Phinney earned a bachelor of music degree from Bowling Green State University and a master of arts degree from Yale University.

Presser Recital Hall is located within Cope Music Hall on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street on Mount Union's campus. The concert is free and is open to the public. For more information please contact the Department of Music at (330) 823-2180.
