Higher Education in South Africa to be Discussed

Dr. CC Wolhuter, comparative education professor at North-West University’s Potchefstroom Campus in South Africa, will speak at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18 in Dewald Chapel on the University of Mount Union’s campus. He will speak on the topic, “The Restructuring of Higher Education in South Africa.”
Wolhuter is the president of Southern African Comparative and History of Education Society (SACHES), and is serving as visiting professor of comparative and international education at Brock University in Canada during the 2012 winter semester. He has served as junior lecturer of history of education and comparative education at the University of Pretoria and is a former senior lecturer at the University of Zululand.
He is the author of several books and articles on comparative education and history of education, and was co-editor of Comparative Education at Universities Worldwide and the encyclopedia International Handbook on Teacher Education.
In addition to the lecture, a coffee hour will be held with Wolhuter from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in van den Eynden.
