?Homework Lady? to Present Convocation at Mount Union College

'Changing the Culture of Homework in Your School' will be the topic of discussion for Dr. Cathy Vatterott, associate professor of middle level education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, at a Mount Union College convocation on Thursday, November 16 at 10:35 a.m. in Mount Union Theatre. The convocation is sponsored by Mount Union's Department of Education.

After presenting at several educational conferences, participants began referring to Vatterott as the 'homework lady.' As a former teacher and principal, and currently the parent of a college freshman, she has experienced homework from a variety of perspectives. She is the author of numerous articles about education and two books'Academic Success through Empowering Students and Becoming a Middle Level Teacher. She is frequent presenter at a variety of state and national educational conferences. She has also served as a consultant and workshop presenter for K-12 schools on a variety of topics.

She has presented her homework research to over 1,800 educators and parents in the United States and abroad. She has been interviewed as a homework expert for articles appearing in Working Mother Magazine, St. Louis Post Dispatch, Trenton Times, Dallas Morning News.com and Scholastic.com. She has also been interviewed by MetroNetworks, a radio news wire service.
