HORNIST GREG MILLER TO PERFORM AT MOUNT UNION COLLEGE

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Guest artist Greg Miller, a hornist with the internationally acclaimed Empire Brass, will be giving a solo performance Monday, March 26 at 7 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.
A symphonic horn player and chamber musician, prior to his appointment with the Empire Brass in 1997, Miller was principal Horn of the Honolulu Symphony and a member of the Honolulu Brass. He also served for three seasons as co-principal Horn with the New World Symphony and associate principal Horn of the Colorado Music Festival and has performed with the Pittsburgh, Akron and Jacksonville Symhonies.
Currently, Miller is associate principal Horn with the Palm Beach Opera Orchestra and performs annually with the Monadnock Music Festival and the Saint Barth's Chamber Festival.
Having served on the faculties of several universities including the University of Hawaii, Florida Atlantic University, Bowdoin College Summer Festival and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Miller was recently appointed to the faculty of the National Orchestra Institute, as well as the University of Maryland School of Music.
Miller is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied with Robert Fries, former co-principal Horn of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He also studied with soloist Eric Ruske while attending Boston University and William Slocum of Youngstown University.
The concert is free and open to the public.
