Physical Plant Department Housekeeping Position
Position Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor in the Physical Plant Department
Primary Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize all rooms within an assigned area or specific building. Maintain an overall image of a neat and clean environment. Daily and weekly duties include: dusting; wiping classroom furniture and other surfaces with a sanitizing product; cleaning mirrors and glass; emptying trash and recycling receptacles; vacuum carpeted floors; dust mop and wet mop hard surface floors; and cleaning bathrooms.
The University provides professional training on all aspects of the cleaning industry. The Housekeeping Team is part of the Physical Plant Department with responsibilities for the care and upkeep of the 123-acre campus including 54 University owned buildings containing over 1.3 million square feet of building space.
Minimum Qualifications: Previous Housekeeping experience helpful but not required. Must be able to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities including following a written schedule. Must be able to perform physical work. Good communication skills are necessary along with a positive work attitude and willingness to work together as a team. Must be available to work any shift, if needed. A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required to operate University vehicles.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm
