I want my courses to be an experience, not just a class. I work hard to develop fun, exciting experiential activities in every course I teach so that students get a hands-on feel for what they are reading about and listening to.


Human development and family science is a people-focused field of study. Students interested pursuing careers in the helping fields or working with individuals, children and families directly are encouraged to pursue a human development and family science degree.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in this field is expected to grow 31% over 2012-2022. Human development and family science careers are projected to increase in number by 11,600 by 2020, which is higher than the national average for all other jobs.
