Choosing Mount Union
I first heard about Mount Union when I was being recruited to run. I went on a campus visit, and had the amazing opportunity to talk to a Dr. Grossman who further elaborated on the education here.
I was awarded a $12,000 academic scholarship. I compared the cost to the other colleges I was looking at to help decide on the pros and cons and it impacted my decision to come here.
Mount Union is Home
It’s home! After coming back home for summer vacation, I could not help but think about coming back to school! The strong sense of community between the student life is what I like the most.
Adjusting to College
Being on a sports team definitely helped me to adjust to college because I met a group of friends from the start of this transition period.
I didn't come to UMU for Education; I came for National Security and Foreign Analysis. With thoughts of changing my major, I decided to seek help from the center of student success which helped me in this decision-making process. French was always something I enjoyed pursuing, and to continue my education as well as being provided with the opportunity to study abroad is helping me pursue a dream of mine.
Although an adjunct, Mrs. Stupeck brings in her years of experience in a classroom. Her class creates a "green-light" learning environment where our hands on learning is fun, engaging and thought provoking. One day, I hope to be the kind of teacher that Mrs. Stupeck is.
Liberal Arts Education
Our interdisciplinary approach to education diversifies my knowledge and interests to where the quality of education that I bring forth in internships will be vastly different--and yet more qualified--than students of other universities.
I wish to obtain an occupation as an elementary school teacher for several years and pursue a masters in Library Science. I was given the amazing opportunity of an on-campus job in the library where I learned about the resources that I can utilize. The librarians at Mount are highly qualified, and help me research internships within my particular field of interest that I may apply to.
The strong sense of community between the student life is what I like the most.
