MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Finding Mount
I heard about the university from Bob Ferrel, a guest artist at Mount Union in 2009, who is also my private teacher back home.

Exceptional People
The people are so nice, and it’s a family here. The thing I like the most about Mount is the professors. In classes, they prepare me to be a well-rounded student when I graduate.

An Exciting Campus
Mount actually has other things to do besides go to class such as carnivals and intramurals. My favorite place on campus is Cope Music Hall because I spend a quarter of my time a day in that building.

Music Education
My favorite hands-on experiences with music education so far have been piano class and brass class. I liked theory class the most because it was the base class that set me up for all the other classes I have with music.

Liberal Arts
Combining a liberal arts education and professional preparation will make me a better speaker, and I like that because I want to be a teacher one day.

Inspiring Professors
The teaching style that Dr. Cook, the choir director, uses is the best I’ve ever learned from. We get stuff done in the classroom while having a blast doing it.

Future Goals
I want to be a high school band director and music teacher because I love kids, and I want to strive for excellence in music with both myself and my future students.
