Join Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center for Field Trip and "Sky Walk"
April 08, 2010
The John T. Huston-Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will be holding a field trip to the Forest Heritage Festival at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 19.
Come join us as we travel to the 7th annual Forest Products Festival in Dover. The festival is held during National Forest Products Week and benefits the Children's Miracle Network. See the Hank Peters Lumberjack Show, enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides and a benefit auction of Amish-made goods. Meet at the Nature Center parking lot at 9 a.m. if you wish to caravan. No registration is required. Admission and parking are free at the Festival.
The Nature Center will also hold a "Venus' Swan Song Sky Walk," that evening, Saturday, October 19 from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Center. This will be Venus' last performance as an evening star for a while. We will see its slender crescent shape at twilight. After that we will spend time looking at the moon. Join Matthew Ferrel again as we explore the heavens. Registration is required. The walk will be cancelled if the weather is cloudy.
Call the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487 for more details. The Nature Center is located 6 miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off Route 183.
