join nature center for food land people workshop

April 09, 2010

The John T. Huston - Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will hold a workshop, 'Food, Land, People,' on Saturday, January 22 from 9 a.m. ' 4 p.m.

This workshop is designed for anyone who works with children. Whether you are a classroom teacher or parent looking for enjoyable activities to bring to your children, this workshop is for you. The activities are based on agriculture and help us to realize that our food does not really come from a grocery store.

Join Heather McClure from Crown Point Ecology Center and Lola Lewis, our district urban forester, as they show us the connections between food, land and people. This program is underwritten in part by EECO, OEEF and EETAP.

We are asking participants to pay $35 toward the $50 cost of materials (if you are a Nature Center volunteer the cost is $25). Please bring a sack lunch and dress for the weather.

Registration is required. The Nature Center is located six miles south of Mount Union College on Daniel Street, just off Route 183. For more information, contact the Nature Center at (330) 823-7487.
