Join Nature Center to Hear Nationally Renowned Hummingbird Expert

The John T. Huston - Dr. John D. Brumbaugh Nature Center will host portions of 'Hummingbirds,' sponsored by the Stark County Educational Service Center in partnership with the Botanical Garden Association, on Saturday, September 4 from 8:30 a.m. ' 7 p.m.
Nationally renowned hummingbird expert Bill Hilton, Jr. will present hummingbird banding demo sessions at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Nature Center. Participants can watch Hilton band and release hummingbirds.
At 12:30 p.m., a box lunch will be served, and there will be a Q & A session, held at Alliance Middle School, 3205 South Union St. At 1:30 p.m., there will be hummingbird identification training, also at the Alliance Middle School, where participants will learn how to identify and report hummingbird sightings. At 5 p.m., there will be guided walks around the Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve, located at 11931 Beech St. The tours will be given by Bill Hilton, Jr. and Dr. Forrest Smith, professor emeritus at the University of Akron.
