Why Mount Union
From the first time I stepped foot on campus, I felt at home. I enjoyed the small campus feel and the people of Mount Union.
The faculty has been so helpful and give students hands on work to learn in the field. I have built a strong relationship with students and faculty.
Advice to Perspective Students
College is what you make of it. You have to come in with an open mind and optimism. Be as organized as you can be, and do not over extend yourself. Be involved but don’t burn yourself out.
Media and Sports Business
Since I was a freshman in high school, I have been involved with sports broadcasting. I always wanted to be involved with sports talk radio and sports commentary and I am able to achieve this at Mount Union. I enjoy the inner workings of sports organizations and Mount Union offers one of the best sports business programs in the country.
The humanity classes I’ve taken at Mount Union have helped me learn about other cultures and values in the world. I took an Africana World Studies class my freshman year that showed me new cultures and beliefs. I also took a Gender Studies class that showed me even more cultures and pointed out the stereotypes placed on society. I would say these classes helped me gain more knowledge on cultures and beliefs and added to my repertoire for my majors.
Dr. Kadlecek, he has offered the most hands on learning. The sports ticket sales class influenced me to add a double major with sports business. He is always available to talk outside of class. He really makes class enjoyable.
I believe that the liberal arts education helps broaden our knowledge of more topics and theories and even helps us learn more about our society.
Open Mind for Future Careers
I would love to host a sports talk radio/TV show in my hometown of Cleveland. However, I have an open mind and will gladly accept what is offered to me in the radio/TV industry. Another dream job would be working in the front office for the Cleveland Indians. No matter what my job is in life, I believe Mount Union has done the best job preparing me for life after graduation, and I believe no other school could have done that for me. I made the best decision of my life coming to Mount Union.
No matter what my job is in life, I believe Mount Union has done the best job preparing me for life after graduation, and I believe no other school could have done that for me.
