Seats are limited. Applications will be reviewed and students will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis. Applicants will be notified of their admission to the Jumpstart Program by email no later than Friday, June 23, 2017. The residential Jumpstart Summer Bridge Program begins July 23, 2017 and runs through August 5, 2017.

The Jumpstart Summer Bridge Program helps first-year students to successfully transition to life at the University by:

  • Developing academic success strategies in math, reading, writing, oral presentations and research.
  • Developing important skills for a successful college career, including: note taking, study skills, time management, test anxiety, stress management, major planning and more.
  • Empowering students to successfully navigate the many student services and support areas available at the University – personalized sessions ranging from financial aid and billing, to student health and wellness.
  • Learning how to customize a personalized experience at the University through an introduction to a variety of opportunities to get involved on campus, from academic departments and programs, to student-led organizations and activities.

Studies show that students who participate in bridge programs, such as Mount Union’s Jumpstart Program, are more likely to succeed in college compared to students who do not. This opportunity provides a distinct advantage to those who are accepted.
