Kappa Phi Volunteers Serve Alliance Community
April 13, 2010
As part of the Kappa Phi National Council, held at Mount Union College June 18-22, over 100 Kappa Phi volunteers helped renovate and beautify parts of the Alliance community.
Some of the volunteers worked with the project Keep Alliance Beautiful. These women planted flowers on Main Street and also cleared littler at Memorial Park. Another group worked with Alliance Parks and Recreation and helped at the Robertson Community center, cleaning and weeding volleyball courts. A third group worked together to create packets for the Early Education Alliance.
Leigh Anne Drago, VISTA Service Leader at Mount Union, coordinated the volunteer opportunities. 'Everyone was in good spirits and eager to work," said Drago. "All of the groups worked really hard and had all of their tasks completed before a huge storm rolled in.'
