Becoming a Raider

I grew up around Mount Union, so I was always interested in attending here for college. The sport business program and student experiences through the program were all very appealing to me. I’ve found my home away from home. The smaller campus has made my experience here so intimate, and it feels like I have bonded with so many people. My advice for people ready to pick a college is to always put yourself first. Choose a school that you feel like you can flourish at regardless of the size. Don’t second guess yourself; if you feel at home, choose that place.

Why Sport Business?

I chose sport business as my major because of the opportunities that you can get while you're in school and after you graduate. The professors and alumni are amazing. They will always support you. My ultimate career goal is to work for Nike. Mount Union is helping prepare me for my future by teaching me how to act professional within classes and events held around campus. By my junior year, I already felt very comfortable in professional settings and public speaking.

Opportunities at Mount Union

So far, I've had a great experience with the Integrative Core because everyone needs to learn how to write and speak correctly in the right setting. Knowing how to speak and write well is a skill that any kind of employer looks for in my future profession. I have been working with the marketing office here on campus for the past six months and that's probably my favorite experience because it's really teaching me what I need for future jobs. I've had awesome hands-on experiences with different projects.
