Kelly Slutz Receives Service-Learning Award

University of Mount Union sophomore Kelly Slutz of Orrville received an honorable mention for the 2012 Service-Learning Leadership Award from the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC).

The OFIC established The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges Service-Learning Leadership Award to recognize the commitment of its member institutions and their students to the betterment of their communities. This award is designed to acknowledge the initiative, achievement and excellence of student leaders involved in service-learning at OFIC member colleges and universities.

At Mount Union, Kelly serves as service project coordinator for Kappa Phi, serves on residence life council, is a program administrator for residence life and is a member of Geology Club, Sociology Club and Sophomore Service.

Award winners will be recognized during an Evening of Excellence event on April 18 at The Sheraton Columbus at Capitol Square.
