March 30, 2004
Representatives of an organization of international students based at Kent State University will share aspects of their national culture and educational system at Mount Union College, on Friday, April 2.
The event, which will take place at the Main Lounge at the Hoover-Price Campus Center, will be held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Organized under the theme, "Culture Connects," the event will feature student presenters from the Bahamas, China, and Taiwan. Among other topics, participants will discuss "Using Proverbs as a Window into Bahamian Culture," "Higher Education in Taiwan," and "A General Overview of the Chinese Educational System."
Participants in the educational exchange are members of the Association of International Students in Education (AISE), a student organization based at Kent State University's College and Graduate School of Education.
The AISE, which comprises mainly graduate-level education majors, has participated in various outreach programs, including visits to local schools, campus awareness projects, and social events that call attention to international issues.
