Larry Welo Art Reception to be Held December 10
December 10, 2009
The exhibit, “Midwestern Landscape,” which will be on display from November 3 through December 10 in the Crandall Art Gallery, will feature etchings by Larry Welo.
Welo, a native of Hibbing, Minnesota, has been doing landscape art for over 30 years. He began his career after graduating from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1974.
“Looking is something that I was born with,” Welo explained. “Seeing, and communicating what is seen, is something that has been learned.”
After moving to Wisconsin with his wife and three children in 1994, his career shifted from participating in many art fairs to working with fine art galleries.
An artist's reception will also be held on Thursday, December 10 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Crandall Art Gallery, which is located at the corner of Simpson Street and Union Avenue between Cope Music Hall and Rodman Playhouse, is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m. For more information, please contact the Department of Art at (330) 823-3860.
