MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY
One of the few
I was looking for a small university where I could balance both academics and athletics. Plus, Mount Union is one of the few universities to offer international business as a major.
I like the small school feeling as well as the availability of my professors and the personal attention I receive from them. The University also offers a broad range of majors and opportunities, so you truly can obtain the personal assistance that you need in whatever area of study you choose to pursue.
If I had to pick one place on campus to take someone who was visiting, I would take him or her to the library to see the countless flags that are displayed in the lobby. The flags signify all of the different countries that are represented on campus.
Love of numbers and cultures
I wanted to pursue business because of my aptitude for numbers. I also have a strong love for foreign languages and cultures, so French and international business and economics was the perfect combination of majors for me.
Studying abroad in Pau, France was my absolute favorite hands-on experience. I was able to receive college credit for my major while living in France for a couple months and experiencing the language and culture first hand!
I enjoyed my economic development course with Dr. Martin Horning because the topics we studied were real world issues that were happening today. He’s a really great professor who always finds a way to teach class material in an interesting way. He gave us assignments for class that were great because we utilized the economic principles that we were studying in the classroom while also integrating community service into the overall project.
Eventually, I'd like to work in consulting and help businesses move their operations abroad as well as travel to France frequently on business.
