Liberal Arts Experience

studentsWhat is this course?
All new freshmen will take a course called The Liberal Arts Experience, otherwise known as LS 100 during their first semester at the University of Mount Union. It is designed to introduce new students to the distinctive nature of liberal learning and to the special features of a Mount Union education.

Students learn skills for adapting to college life, enhance critical reading and discussion skills, and develop an understanding of the diversity and complexity of both the college community and the contemporary world.

An added benefit is that students forge friendships with the approximately sixteen other new students in their LS 100 section and have an identified resource person in the form of the LS 100 instructor. This instructor serves as "mentor" and academic advisor until students formally declare a major
