Liliestedt to Present Piano Faculty Recital on December 8

Dr. Maira Liliestedt of the Mount Union College Department of Music will perform a piano recital on Tuesday, December 8 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

The recital will feature pieces by Mozart, Piazzolla and Liszt.

Liliestedt, assistant professor of music, earned a bachelor of music degree in piaDr. Maira Liliestedtno from Bowling Green State University, a master of music degree and a doctoral of musical arts degree from the University of Cincinnati College.

Liliestedt was a prizewinner in national and international competitions in her native Romania before moving to the United States in 1992. The Keys to Artistry piano camp at Mount Union College was co-founded and co-directed by Liliestedt. She played an important role in the re-establishment of the Mount Union College Alliance Symphony concerto competition, where she serves as the organizer.

The recital is free and open to the public. Presser Recital Hall is located within Cope Music Hall, which stands on the corner of Union Avenue and Simpson Street across from the Campus Lakes. For more information, contact the Department of Music at (330) 823-2180.
