LINC Luncheon Featuring Dr. Jamie Capuzza to be Held April 21

Dr. Jamie Capuzza, professor of communication and chair of the Department of CommunicationDr. Jamie Capuzza, professor of communication and chair of the Department of Communication, will present “Global Advances in Women’s Rights” at the LINC Community Luncheon to be held Tuesday, April 21 at noon in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. This is the final session of the LINC series for the 2008-2009 academic year.

A 1985 graduate of Mount Union College, Capuzza earned a bachelor of arts degree in communication. She then earned master of arts and doctoral degrees in rhetorical theory and criticism from The Ohio State University. A Mount Union faculty member since 1992, she has served as director of both the Gender Studies and Honors programs. Capuzza is a member of the National Communication Association and the Association of Women in Communications, Inc.

The Community luncheon series known as LINC (lunch, information, networking, and conversation) that began last year was conceived to take advantage of the local expertise from Mount Union’s faculty and staff that exists in Alliance, in light of the College’s exceptional academic reputation.

The sessions are open to the public and run from noon until 1 p.m. during the third Tuesday of the months of September, October, November, February, March and April. The cost for the lunch is $9 and will be served in the Hoover-Price Campus Center. Sessions will be chaired by Doug Schwarz vice president of Alliance Ventures and executive director of the Greater Alliance Foundation, with comments and updates from Dr. Richard F. Giese, president of the College and Harry Paidas, vice president for public affairs and marketing.
