MY EXCEPTIONAL STORY

Right school for me
While looking at a variety of colleges and universities, I realized that a smaller university is what I needed. At Mount Union, you’re not treated as a number and you receive personal, one-on-one attention from faculty members. Ever since my first visit, I knew Mount Union was the right school for me.

Exceptional stories
What I really like most about Mount Union is that I feel at home here. The close-knit campus community provides students with the opportunity to meet plenty of individuals who have their own exceptional stories, and the students and faculty care so much about one another. At Mount Union, it’s easy to be involved and still receive a high quality education. Whether hanging out on campus with your friends or helping with a service project for a club, it’s easy to stay busy. Seeing first-hand that students always have something to do is what made me fall in love with Mount Union.

Helpful professor
Christine Johnson, academic coach in the departments of biology and chemistry, served as my LS 100 professor during my freshman year. She has helped me to really think about my future and what I want in life. Everything from time management to scheduling classes, she has truly led me in the right direction.

Rewarding career
I chose to major in healthcare management because I knew I wanted a rewarding career and I wanted to help others. I also have a strong interest in health and business and I love working with people. By being a healthcare administrator, I will have the opportunity to help people every single day. In addition, I could one day make decisions that will improve the lives of many people and really make an impact on patients, their families and society.

Stress relief
Thus far, Wellness has been my favorite class at Mount Union. It was not only fun to work out for a grade, but also interesting to learn about health and how we as individuals should take care of our bodies. Exercising a few times a week helped me get rid of any stress I had when it came to tests and homework.

Variety of activities
My favorite place on campus would have to be the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (The MAAC) because it provides students with a variety of activities to participate in such as Zumba, turbo kick and intramural sports.

Career goals
My ultimate career goal is to own and operate a hospital. In addition, I would like to travel and help victims of natural disasters.
