Lotsof Named Co-Director of First Year Experience at Mount Union College

Mount Union College has named Deborah Lotsof, associate professor of theatre, as the faculty co-director of the First Year Experience program being piloted this fall.

Lotsof will join Sara Sherer, assistant director of residence life for training and development, who was named co-director earlier this year.' The First Year Experience initiative at Mount Union College is designed to bring first-year students together to create an enhanced intellectual atmosphere on campus through the development of a living-learning culture. This program breaks down some of the barriers that separate the classroom from the residence halls and provides greater integration of all aspects of college life for first-year students.
Lotsof is from Sioux City, Iowa and earned her bachelor of arts degree in theatre from Grinnell College and a master of fine arts degree in costume design from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Before joining the faculty of Mount Union, Lotsof worked with the theatre production of many institutions including Briar Cliff College, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Illinois Wesleyan University and the University of Montana.
Lotsof will bring her experience to the program from working with first year students both at previous institutions and with the College's LS 100 program.' She will also continue as the coordinator of LS 100.
Sherer joined the staff at Mount Union in 2000 after earning a bachelor of arts degree in English from the College.' She also earned a master of education degree in education administration from Kent State University.
