Make a Difference Day at Mount Union College on October 22
April 13, 2010
Mount Union College is providing a way for everyone to get involved in 'Make a Difference Day' on Saturday, October 22.
Throughout this week, bags will be distributed on campus and to the surrounding community. These bags may be filled with non-perishable food items, school supplies, clothing items and toiletries. Filled bags may be delivered to the Dewald Chapel at Mount Union anytime this week or picked up by student volunteers on Friday, October 21 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
Additionally, on Saturday, October 22, the Pre-Law Society of Mount Union will be collecting can goods prior to the Purple Raider football game from 11 - 1 p.m. in the Hoover Price Campus Center. Stop by for the pre-game brunch and join in to help make a difference.
All donated items will be delivered to various social service agencies in the community including the local food pantry run by First Christian Church, Alliance Emergency Residence, the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, and others.
For more information, to get bags or to schedule a pick up, please contact Shana Blazer Hruby, interim director of service learning and community service, at (330) 829-8168.
