My only advice to those thinking about it or just want to learn more about it should come out and join the class.  Along with gaining knowledge on the current military you can earn college credit, and learn leadership skills that will be with you for the rest of your life. If you have any interest in joining Army ROTC at Mount Union there are many ways you can do so.

 Program: Army ROTC

Why did you choose to pursue the Army ROTC program at Mount Union? When I started looking for places to go to college I had no Idea where I wanted to go, or what I wanted to do.  I did know that I was interested in ROTC, a small school environment, and a varsity swim program.  As I fell in love with Mount I found something that really caught my interest and that was the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program.  ROTC is offered at Mount Union as just a class for freshmen and sophomores; a commitment is not required unless you want to continue on into your junior and senior year.  As an undecided student this was a non threatening way to learn about the military and possible start a career.

What types of opportunities are available for students who share your interest in the Army ROTC program as well as education? There are many opportunities available through Army ROTC.  As a contracted Cadet I receive full tuition, money for books, and monthly stipend. As you progress through the program you will gain leadership skills, camaraderie, and many exciting memories.  Even out of college the opportunities are endless.  Being trained to a job that you love, and the possibility of seeing the world while at work are just a few of the perks

How will you use your degree upon graduation? Upon Graduation I will be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, and following commissioning I will go to OBC, Officer Basic Course which is the training I need. Cadets are allowed to choose their MOS (Mission of Service) Personally I have not yet made a decision but I am considering Aviation or Infantry.

Elements a person should possess to succeed in your program? If students are considering ROTC they should possess a few traits that can be summed up in a few army acronyms first LDRSHIP Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
