Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership: Program Director’s Welcome
Thank you for inquiring about the Master of Arts in Educational Leadership (MAEL) degree offered by the University of Mount Union. The blended nature of our two-year program enables you to complete the majority of coursework online during the regular academic year. Your experience will be enhanced by participation in a face-to-face Summer Institute (SI) featuring renowned experts and leaders in the field. Conducted in a workshop format, the weeklong SI focuses on current issues and facilitates networking and interaction. Sessions can be tailored to the needs of specific groups such as independent and international school teachers.
The MAEL curriculum is dynamic and cutting-edge, preparing professionals for success in rapidly changing environments. Coursework to prepare students for a principal’s license or CIPD license is embedded in the 36 hours of the degree program.
In year two, you will also have the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills in a yearlong, supervised internship in your home school or district.
Our faculty, who are all full-time and hold earned doctorates, are committed to the success of all students and foster a highly professional and supportive environment. Become part of the over 160-year tradition of educational excellence in our highly-rated university.
I look forward to receiving your application and working with you.
