Dr. Robert Frampton

Teaching Area(s): Doctor of Physical Therapy

The reason I went into education years ago was to help students learn the complicated concepts in physical therapy education in a way that made an impact on them and changed the way PT’s interact with patients and clients.

Message from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Mount Union’s Department of Physical Therapy. As the founding chairperson and director, I have been diligently working on a curriculum for the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. I have been a physical therapist for over 20 years, and I have never been more excited about the direction of the profession than in the last several years.

This is an exciting time in our profession as well as in the life of the University. The physical therapy program will be the first doctoral program for the University of Mount Union. Physical therapy is a dynamic profession grounded in foundational science courses and applied movement to assist individuals with improving, maintaining or regaining function.

Our program incorporates the principles:

  • Wellness
  • Rehabilitation
  • Lifespan growth/development

You will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with professionals in related health fields as you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a physical therapist. Our program is guided by the profession’s vision:

Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.

I look forward to working with you as you take steps toward obtaining your career goals. If I can be of assistance as you consider this exciting career please do not hesitate to call upon me.
