Middle Childhood Education Major
Our program in middle childhood education will provide you with a strong liberal arts foundation coupled with the hands-on experience critical to successful teaching. Forward-thinking and inspiring professors engage teacher candidates in “real” teacher activities such as preparing curriculum units, creating classroom management plans and developing methods of assessment. You will spend time in real classrooms observing, assisting and teaching – an array of experiences that will prepare you to be a highly-qualified and motivating teacher in our 21st century world.
Middle childhood education graduates have found success performing teaching in school districts in Ohio and throughout the country.
In addition, middle childhood education students also have pursued graduate studies at institutions across the country.
The major in middle childhood education is administered by the Department of Education, which also offers programs in early childhood education and intervention specialist as well as minors in adolescence to young adult education, mathematics for education and multiage education.
