Mount Union Alliance Chorale to Perform Spring Concert April 29

April 13, 2010

The Mount Union Alliance Chorale will be closing out its 26th season with a spring concert on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church on West Beech Street in Alliance.

The concert will feature a number of musical 'scenes' from various satirical operettas by Gilbert and Sullivan.

'These are some of my favorite musical moments,' said John Roberts, Chorale director, 'They are tuneful and pleasant ' and often very funny.'

Also featured will be works by Ralph Vaughn Williams, Edward Elgar and an excerpt from Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio 'Elijah.'

The Chorale was formed to give adult singers from the Greater Alliance area the chance to join forces with Mount Union students to perform a wide repertory of choral music, ranging from Handel's 'Messiah' to the rollicking spoof on Christmas songs performed last winter with the Alliance Symphony and a number of local high school choruses.

Tickets are $5 and are available from Chorale members or at the door. For more information, contact Jed Mewborn at (330) 823-2999 or Bill Bowman at (330) 829-0891.
