Mount Union Alliance Chorale to Present 26th Season Fall Concert

November 12, 2008

The 26th Season Fall Concert of the Mount Union Alliance Chorale, under the direction of Mount Union faculty member John Roberts, will be held Sunday, November 23 at 3 p.m. at the First Christian Church, located on West Beech Street in Alliance.

The choral group, composed of Mount Union students and adults from the greater Alliance area, will open the concert with the Missa Brevis, or short Mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Although early Mozart, the work displays the mastery of form, technique and melody so typical of the Viennese master.

The program will also feature four selections from the work Frostiana, poems of Robert Frost set to gorgeous choral music of Randall Thompson.

A nod to the coming season will be Christmas Day, a sparkling arrangement of old English carols by Gustave Holst.

Admission to the concert is $5, with students free.
