Mount Union and Middle School Ecology Clubs Celebrate Earth Day

June 01, 2010

To celebrate Earth Day, Mount Union students and Alliance Middle School students with an interest in the environment and ecological issues joined together to plant a tree on the Middle School campus on April 22. Mount Union College's ecology club, Students for Environmental Awareness (SEA), has been working in conjunction with Alliance Middle School to develop an ecology club as part of the Navigators after school program. The students involved, sixth and seventh graders, planted a Red Bud tree donated by DeHoff's Flowers. Marlisa Sams is the Alliance Middle School teacher who works with the student ecology club.
