Mount Union Announces Spring LINC Speakers

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The University of Mount Union has scheduled its spring 2014 LINC luncheon series speakers.
LINC (lunch, information, networking and conversation) luncheons are held at the Hoover-Price Campus Center at Mount Union. The series is open to the public and includes lunch, current topic discussion with a member of the Mount Union faculty and the opportunity to connect with members of the University, as well as the Alliance community.
Speakers for the spring series include:
Tuesday, January 28 – Dr. Mark Himmelein, professor of German: “More Than Nouns and Verbs: Teaching Culture through Language.”
Tuesday, February 25 – Dr. Melissa Askren-Edgehouse, assistant professor of education: “Devices and Distractions: Do We Have Too Much Digital Access to Everything?”
Tuesday, March 25 – Dr. Sarah Torok-Gerard, associate professor and department chair of psychology: “Tales from the Trails: Linking Classroom Learning to Ultra Marathon Training.”
The cost for each lunch is $10. Payment is accepted at the door. Lunch begins at noon, the program will begin at 12:20 p.m. and the event will conclude by 1 p.m. The community luncheon series was created to take advantage of the local expertise from Mount Union’s faculty and staff that exist in Alliance in light of Mount Union’s exceptional academic reputation.
