Mount Union Campus Community Donate Meals to "Fast for a World Harvest" Day
April 13, 2010
During this year's "Fast for a World Harvest Day," on Thursday, November 20 at Mount Union College, over 225 individuals from the campus community volunteered to give up their meals.
Students, faculty and staff who chose to take part in "Fast for a World Harvest Day" did not eat during dinner. Instead, they donated the money they would have spent on food to OxFam.
Mount Union's participation in "Fast for a World Harvest Day" is in association with OxFam America, an organization dedicated to finding long-term solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice around the world. This year marks the 30th anniversary of this campaign.
The office of service learning and community service and the Black Student Union at Mount Union College sponsored "Fast for a World Harvest Day."
