Mount Union Choir to Perform December 11 and 12

The Mount Union College Choir will perform on Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.
The Mount Union Choir, one of five choral organizations on campus, is one of the nation’s oldest choral ensembles. Under the direction of Dr. Scott W. Dorsey, professor of music and director of choral activities at Mount Union, the choir has earned critical acclaim throughout Europe and the Middle and Far East.
The choir is made up of 54 students, representing various academic departments. Students have been chosen through competitive auditions and maintain a schedule of daily rehearsals, regular sectionals, and concert tour performances.
Performing music spanning nearly a millennium, the choir presents a large repertoire. The 2010 tour program features 12th century chants, 16th and 17th century polyphony, 20th and 21st century choral masterpieces and American folk music.
These performances are free and open to the public but tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained by calling the Department of Music at (330) 823-2180.
