MOUNT UNION COLLEGE'S DR. JAMES PERONE TO PRESENT RECITAL

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Dr. James Perone, assistant professor and chair of Mount Union College's music department, will perform a recital on February 14 at 8 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall.

Perone holds a bachelor of music degree in music education from Capital University, and a master of fine arts degree in clarinet performance, a master of arts degree in music theory, and doctorate degree in music theory from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Before taking his position at Mount Union College in 1994, Dr. Perone was active in chamber music throughout western New York, playing clarinet in the Madera Wind Quartet and Amherst Chamber Winds.

He has published numerous books, including bio-bibliographies of Howard Hanson, Paul Simon, Carol King and Elvis Costello. Two more of his works are on the presses for release in 2001 and 2002. His articles have appeared in journals such as ClariNetwork, The Flutist Quarterly, and Interface: The Journal of New Music Research.
