Mount Union College's Dr. Victoria Harris to Present Organ Recital at Dewald Chapel

Dr. Victoria B. Harris, professor of music and director of the preparatory division at Mount Union College, will present an organ recital Sunday, November 4 at 3 p.m. at the College's Dewald Chapel on the Chapel's new Holtkamp organ.

Dr. Harris will perform "Praeludium in E Major," by Dietrich Buxtehude; "Partita on Sei gegrusset, Jesu gutig," by Bach; "Eleven Chorale Preludes," by Brahms and "Fanfare on America the Beautiful," by Matthew H. Corl.

Dr. Harris received her bachelor of music in piano performance at Eastman School of Music, her master of arts degree in piano at Ohio State University, and her master of fine arts and doctor of musical arts degrees in organ performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa. She has taught at Mount Union College since 1986, serving seven years as department chair of the music department.

Recently, Dr. Harris and her husband, Neil, traveled to Saint Petersburg, Russia for her to perform an organ concert, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture, at the Glinka Capella Hall in Saint Petersburg.

The recital is free and open to the public. Dewald Chapel is located on the Mount Union College campus across from the College football stadium on Aultman Avenue.
