Mount Union College Black Student Union To Hold Annual Basketball Extravaganza

April 15, 2010

Mount Union College's Black Student Union will hold the annual Basketball Extravaganza Wednesday, November 7 at 9 p.m. in the Timken Building. Proceeds will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and to help sponsor a presentation from the "CAMPUSPEAK" Program, that includes a documentary film on hate crimes.

The Basketball Extravaganza is open to the public. Admission is $1 or one canned good for students and $2 or two canned goods for the public. The Extravaganza includes four events: the slam dunk contest, a free throw contest, 3-point contest and the "hot shots" contest, where players are required to shoot the basketball from various locations on the court. Anyone can enter the contests. The winner from each category will receive a cash prize. The event was coordinated by Ron Powers, a Mount Union College junior from Akron.
