Mount Union College Campus to Continue Working on Hurricane Relief
September 9, 2005
Mount Union is continuing in its efforts to aid in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. At the Raiders' home opening football game alone on September 3, the College raised over $1,400 in donations.
Other efforts on campus include fundraising by student organizations through raffles and donations; an assembly of flood buckets and health kits by students, faculty and staff; and a clothing and non-perishable food drive to be held.
Mount Union has also enrolled one displaced student while receiving five new inquiries.
The College will be holding a campus-wide meeting on Thursday, September 22 at 8 p.m. in the Campus Grounds, to organize relief efforts. The meeting is open to the entire College community.
There are plans for organized groups to travel during the winter and spring breaks to aid in clean up and rebuilding in the region.
